Phoenix Seagaia Resort

Miyazaki, Japan

Located in the City of Miyazaki in southern Japan, the Seagaia Ocean Dome was the world’s largest indoor water park measuring 30,000 m2.  It was also the iconic symbol of the Seagaia Resort which was anchored by the high rise Sheraton Seagaia Hotel.  Due to the collapse of the Japanese economy, the Ocean Dome was closed in 2007 for a complete rebranding and repositioning performed by GRS.  Ultimately, an authentic retail and entertainment based village was developed linking the Ocean Dome with the Sheraton Hotel.  This transformed the Ocean Dome into a state-of-the-art, 2 level indoor/outdoor outlet centre.  Today, Seagaia Outlet Centre and Entertainment Village is one of the top performing retail, commercial and leisure destinations in southern Japan.
